This year marks the milestone 20th Anniversary instance of Song Fight's most popular and strongest sidefight, Nur Ein - which means "only one". Run by veteran songfighter Niveous, a handful of judges weed out the lesser entries in each intensifying round of this crucible of the finest talent to be featured on songfight.org, a titan of amateur song-writing organizations in its own right (Spintunes, FAWM - February Album Writing Month also come to mind). As if being ranked on creative, technical, and production skills isn't daunting enough, there are non-optional challenges to satisfy. Think Great British Bakeoff.
Brown Word and the Big Whine was born from the long-running Song Fight project WreckdoM a revolving cast of characters centered around a core duo Geoff WreckdoM and King Colon. After participating in the group and learning the ropes using a DAW (digital audio workstation) I immediately started my own project in 2010, that picked up a lot of steam in January 2020 and continues while I'm still currently participating in WreckdoM.
We both enter the crucible this week for Round 0 - the round that gathers up to 25 artists for the next 8 rounds...
